 We had been renting an apartment in the Adam's Morgan/Dupont Circle area of Washington DC for just under a year when we decided it was time to buy. Our first visit to an open house confirmed this as the apartment was packed to its limits with prospective homebuyers and a look at the guest book showed that we could be competing against twenty or more people! We contacted a buyer broker whose card we ran across at an open house, however when he heard that the price range in which we were looking was not to his taste he stopped returning our phone calls. Frustrated, we tried a second time and emailed Richard, whose site we had run across earlier. Within a day of sending the email, Richard called us from his vacation in California and we started the process of hunting for our ideal home. It took at least 25 open houses to find the right place, but when we did, we knew it was the one we had to have. Unfortunately we were not the only ones who thought this and when it came down to submitting contracts there were 18. Richard guided us through this process, was in constant contact with us and patiently explained all of the language and concepts that we did not understand. After our contract was ratified, Richard continued to advise us on financing and closing and was there for every step. We appreciated Richard's up-front advice, patience and persistence, not to mention the fact that it did not cost us a penny! We would recommend his services to anyone house hunting in DC and we will undoubtedly be calling him again when we're ready to move up in the world!
